Eric Lee fell in love with comics watching Batman on a fuzzy VHS. He’s written and illustrated children’s books, comics, web comics, and zines, contributed to “Comics Lit Vol. 1,” and drawn shorts like “Tragic Nerds” and “Pandemic Life.” A Northern California native, he holds four college degrees—none related to art—and is still memorizing the Hamilton soundtrack.

Carissa Fei is an Academy of Art University–trained illustrator who works across murals, merch design, visual development and cover art, all fed by a lifelong love of anime and manga. She prints her own stickers in-house, holographic foil included, and once drew and produced a full sticker set for comedian Uncle Roger in under three days. Keep an eye out for The Black Fire, her original band of characters, around the booth.

Hikarii is a hobbyist who makes stickers, prints, zines and other handmade goods! She likes to write stories about herself that often appear in the form of comics.

At ten years old, Rosemary Ruiz read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and vowed to write a book like it for God someday. Forty years later she answered that call with The Chosen Kids Saga, a Goonies-meets-Narnia adventure about ordinary kids chosen to stop evil beings sent to destroy humanity. Her Mexican American family inspired the cast, and every book serves up a traditional Mexican recipe.

What inspires me to create, I would say it’s raw, multi-media depictions of all things biblical, spiritual and extremely personal. Inspired by what I’m reading in the word, what God’s showing me daily and who I’m discovering him to be.

Christian Lipski spent years on digital art fed by video games, sci-fi and fantasy. Then he read the Bible straight through, came out a follower of Christ, and found himself pulled toward older crafts. He’s bringing custom hardcover bookbindings, screen printed shirts, sculptures and some of that earlier digital work. He’d rather say it in pictures than words, which is what keeps him making things.

Animo started at home. Two parents watched their kids carry trading cards everywhere, memorizing every detail, and wished they’d study Scripture the same way. No such game existed, so they built one. Every Animo character embodies a biblical virtue or a sin, paired with a verse to encourage it or overcome it—and their monthly Bible Verse Challenge sends a free shiny card to any kid who learns it.

Gabe Eltaeb is an American comic book artist, writer, and publisher. He loves nothing more than bringing his characters to life with thrilling stories, raucous action, and characters who embody honor and resolve. You might have seen his work on some of the biggest titles in the industry, like Batman, Green Lantern, and Star Wars. Heroes remind us of the best parts of ourselves, he says, and let us know we can be more than we ever dreamed.

Alyssa makes handmade pieces that add a little more color, whimsy and personality to the everyday—cheerful details and one-of-a-kind work meant to bring a smile and make a moment feel special. Because sometimes all a space needs is a pop of color, a touch of sparkle, and something made with love.

Jenny Cai makes fan art out of her love for anime, alongside nature-inspired Christian designs for T-shirts and everyday merch. Her aim is to spark curiosity in people who don’t know much about Christianity by folding Bible references and Christian values into designs worth wearing. A con that combines the Lord and anime, she says, is a special find.

Meet Nia, the 11-year-old artist behind Cute Things by Nia, born and raised in San Francisco. Her pop-up is full of original kawaii artwork and fan art, plus stickers, keychains and accessories. The whole shop is about creativity, individuality and being unapologetically yourself. Nia is young and autistic, so Mom runs her Instagram and helps out with sales.

Debster’s Doodles comes from a Nevada artist, illustrator and storyteller who studied Fine Arts at Penn State and San Jose State. The writing started with Joe-Joe, a remarkable boy battling muscular dystrophy. His resilience became the muse for a run of stories that pictured him as a spirited zebra racing across the safari, which is where the zebra icon comes from. Those Joe-Joe tales didn’t get much attention, but they lit a creative fire that still drives the drawing and writing.

JADE grew out of decades of making cards and a desire to slow down and meditate on Scripture. Watercolor does exactly that: painting a verse becomes a way to sit with it while making something to encourage someone else. Inspiration comes from family, friends, church, Scripture, natural beauty and favorite foods. The focus is cards and paper goods because a handwritten note has carried so much encouragement over the years, and simple snail mail is a great way to extend care and share joy.
